DGC International Joins the Defense Industry Initiative

McLean, VA — July 24, 2016 – DGC International has successfully joined the Defense Industry Initiative. The Defense Industry Initiative (DII), is a nonpartisan and non-profit organization of seventy-seven signatory companies comprising the top U.S. defense and security companies. Collectively, DII signatory companies receive over $540 billion per year in federal funds.

Every year, DII helps train hundreds of ethics officers on the latest issues in ethics and compliance. These ethics officers in turn help train hundreds of thousands of other defense-industry employees. An industry leader, DII holds regular meetings and conferences to share best ethical practices, and provides instructional resources to members and non-members alike.

“We are committed to continuously improving our ethical culture, minimizing risk and staying ahead of the curve when it comes to meeting the highest standards of ethics and efficiency,” notes Ian Galloway, Vice President, Corporate Development. “Joining DII demonstrates our continued commitment to improving the quality and openness of our organization for the benefit of our customers.”

In 2009, the Government Accountability Office (GAO) analyzed the quality of ethics programs at the largest U.S. defense firms. The firms, almost all DII members, excelled. GAO found that DII members had stringent ethics programs in place years before the Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) required it.
