Technical Writer

Description: This position is responsible for responding to proposals and ensuring all responses are current, well written and accurately reflects DGC International key messages, products and services. This individual supports the Proposal Strategy Manager and helps direct the work of the Proposal Writer.

Tasks

  • Manage the entire proposal process, from initial strategy meeting through production, to create a quality product. Follow and ensure adherence to DGC International proposal process by all parties.
  • Develop concise, accurate and well written responses to proposal questions using the established criteria for quality proposal responses.
  • Review proposals to identify new questions, areas of concern, unique requirements and opportunities for differentiation. In collaboration with sales, ensure proposals and executive summaries include strategic positioning and are customized to address the unique needs of each audience.
  • Research responses to proposal questionnaires using the RFP content management system, subject matter experts (SMEs) and other sources. Manage the SMEs to ensure they are appropriately informed of the proposal, their role in the process and their timely and complete response to identified questions.
  • Promote company-wide understanding and adherence to the RFP process.
  • Work with the Proposal Strategy Manager to mentor, coach and help direct the work of the Proposal Writer and Database Specialist.

Knowledge

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 1 to 3 years of proposal experience
  • Exceptional writing, editing and project management skills.
  • Ability to meet tight deadlines and balance multiple projects.
  • Must possess excellent collaborative and interpersonal skills and have the ability to develop strong working relationships with internal and external clients.
  • Proficient with MS Word and some experience using Excel and PowerPoint. Experience with RFP content management system (RFP Machine) preferred.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for project management of various projects, attends business meetings, and performs various project, office, and account activities.
  • Assists in preparation of proposals, pricing structure, technical documents, and various office and account related activities.
  • Responsible for managing existing client accounts, identifying new business opportunities and revenue sources
  • Provides timely feedback to senior management regarding performance of projects.
  • Maintains accurate records of all pricings, sales, activity.
  • Assists Account Executives in preparation of proposals and presentations.
  • Controls expenses to meet budget guidelines.
  • Assists in the hiring of Account Executives based on criteria agreed upon by senior management.

Capture Manager

Description: This position is established to qualify and capture major (>$20M) government acquisitions. You will be part of a multi-disciplinary team that is focused on “Driving to Win” by melding business, management, technical and cost elements for winning proposals. Efforts include development and implementation of the win strategy, beginning with pre-Request for Proposal activities and continuing through written/oral proposal development, negotiations, award and transition. You will lead the capture team in the development of a winning proposal strategy for Public Sector clients.

We’re looking for individuals with these qualities:

  • Minimum 5+ years combined experience with any of the following:  strategic capture, proposal development and/or costing and pricing
  • Minimum 3+ years experiences as a capture manager developing and leading multiple capture efforts that have won major federal contracts totaling at least $50 million in the last 2 years.
  • Minimum 4+ years experience within the Federal government market in information technology, professional services and / or management and / or business development fields.
  • Business operations & management experience delivering technical or management consulting services to federal clients, with full P&L responsibility, is highly desired
  • Experience with companies successfully marketing to federal civil and defense agencies involving large complex contracts strongly preferred
  • Bachelors degree required

  • The candidate will be responsible for all aspects of business development including proposal writing, business development, and project management.
  • Will lead the formulation, implementation, and comprehensive support to business areas and be responsible for staging and marketing all of the business enterprises of DGCI.
  • Responsible for building company presence as a global provider and effectively leading the marketing of the capabilities resulting to achieve and/or exceed the business plan and objectives.
    • Must be able to interact over the phone, internet, and in person, in order to identify and develop business opportunities and conduct the corresponding research.  Requires highly developed interpersonal skills which will allow building further relationships.
  • The position will require a close working relationship with the other managers for the purpose of sharing strategies and functional resources.
  • Candidate must have experience, knowledge and the ability to develop relationships with federal acquisition officials, including Government Agencies such as US Department of State, Department of Defense, and other for identifying and developing potential business opportunities.
  • Candidate must have the ability to determine, through experience and professional insight, good business opportunities and be able to influence and negotiate upon them.
  • Develop solutions to complex problems which require the regular use of ingenuity and innovation. Ensures solutions are consistent with organizational objectives and financial goals.
  • Additional responsibilities include, but-are not limited to: Supporting company staff in managing existing and new customer accounts, supporting/leading captures, coordinating across multiple functional organizations to obtain resources necessary to achieve the growth goals.
  • 5+ years of combined applicable experience in business development related field.
  • Bachelors Degree in business or related field or equivalent experience preferred.
  • Proven record of winning new and recompete business with domestic and international customers. Provide recommendations on how to support customers in the targeted markets.

  • Upper level military or civilian agency experience or equivalent corporate business experience.

DGC International based in Vienna, VA is looking for an experienced Capture Manager with deep experience with business development, proposals and winning in the Federal market.

Description: This position is established to qualify and capture major (>$50M) government acquisitions. You will be part of a multi-disciplinary team that is focused on “Driving to Win” by melding business, management, technical and cost elements for winning proposals. Efforts include development and implementation of the win strategy, beginning with pre-Request for Proposal activities and continuing through written/oral proposal development, negotiations, award and transition. You will be involved in the end-to-end proposal process, including assisting the proposal writers with writing, win themes, and any other proposal-related tasks.

We’re looking for individuals with these qualities:

  • Minimum 7+ years combined experience with any of the following:  strategic capture, proposal development and/or costing and pricing
  • Minimum 5+ years experiences as a capture manager developing and leading multiple capture efforts that have won major federal contracts totaling at least $50 million in the last 2 years.
